Assistant Professor in Sociology (Human Rights and Politics)
The post will commence in September 2019
“The Department of Sociology at LSE seeks to hire one outstanding Assistant Professor in Human Rights and Politics to add to our internationally renowned, innovative and publicly engaged faculty. The post holder is expected to contribute to teaching and research in Human Rights and Politics.
You will have a completed PhD, or be close to obtaining a PhD, in sociology or a relevant social science field by the post start date; Expertise and research interests in the relationship between human rights and politics; A track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications in sociology or cognate disciplines; Proven ability, as evidenced by existing publications, or potential to publish in top journals or with leading book publishers; and a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications.
You should also have the ability to teach Human Rights and Politics at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels and be able to make contributions to other areas of teaching in the Department as appropriate.
